Piedra River Snowshoe

Sue and I led a snowshoe outing down the Piedra River for our Outdoor Club. It was a really cold morning, about -6° when we started out (perhaps explainng the low turnout). But lots of sun, and we did warm up. The Piedra is always nice, but really beautiful when it's rocky gorge is covered with snow.

Keetna and Sue are in the lead as we start down the trail. There had been enough use that we didn't have to break much trail. Did I mention it was a nippy -6°F when we started out? Maybe that's why we had a small group. Fortunately the sun warmed us... somewhat!
