Ice Lakes Basin Lollipop Hike
For our fourth day of hiking in the Silverton area, we went to the incredible Ice Lakes. We got an early start, leaving Silverton at 6:30 AM, both to avoid afternoon weather, and to ensure a parking spot at the popular trailhead. The wildflowers and mountains were spectacular, and the colors in the upper basin are always just amazing. And the weather cooperated. We hiked in to the upper basin by the trail, but then descended by an off trail route to make our lollipop loop. Always a fantastic hike.
