Canyon de Chelly, Nov 2015
In mid-November, Sue and I visited Canyon de Chelly National Monument in northeaster Arizona. Sue had learned that during this time, there are free ranger-led hikes into the canyon, in addition to the single self-guided trail in the monument. It also turned out to be pretty much the peak of fall cottonwood color, adding an extra dimension. It's a stunning setting for the many Ancestral Pueblo ruins, and also a great place to learn more about Navaho history.
