Four Pass Loop Backpack, Pt 1
Sue and I joined 6 companions at the end of July to backpack the famous Four Pass Loop, in the Elk Mountains of central Colorado. Not surprisingly, the hike crosses four 12,500 ft passes as it circles the Maroon Bells. We did the hike as a four night, five day trip. It's a beautiful area, but quite popular due to its proximity to Crested Butte and Aspen. Note to self: avoid on weekends! Still, a great hike. This album is from the first two days, beginning at Schofield Park, hiking over West Marron Pass, and ending at Crater Lake in the West Maroon valley.
