Black Canyon Campout
When you think about the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, you probably think of canyons impossibly deep, and impossibly steep. I know I did. And that is certainly the major draw. But on our June trip to the South Rim, we found it's also a great place to hike along cascading streams, see a wide variety of wildflowrs, a variety of ecosytems, and lots of butterflies and moths. In short, way more variety than we imagined. We spent 4 nights in our trailer, "camped" at the South Rim campground with friends from our Outdoor Club, for 3 full days of hiking. Great trip to one of our "backyard" National Parks!
