Moab and Beyond (Sept 2021)

The entrance to Nine Mile Ranch, our home for 3 nights. It's a working ranch, but with RV/tent campsites near the ranch buildings. It was a good place to spend a few nights.

Our first full day at Nine Mile Canyon, we stopped at most of the marked rock art sites. This one is sometimes called "Balloon Man"

Next up is the fascinating "Coyote Placing the Stars" panel. It is located high on the cliff, close to the heavens, where Coyote is placing the stars (according to myth).

We went back out the following morning, to see seom additional sites. This is balanced rock

We walked up to the Freemont Village site. Not much remains, but the views of the canyon were good

The next day, we drove back to Moab, and camped at Ken's Lake, a BLM site. While Sue is finishing her dinner, I photographed the afternoon light on the nearby cliffs

Late afternoon, Ken's Lake campground. We stayed here four nights, with a group from our Outdoor Club.

The next moring we drove up to Warner Lake in the La Sal Mountains, for a hike. Fall color was at its peak!
