Pueblitos of Dinétah
At the end of September 2022, Sue and I took the trailer to Navaho Lake State Park (NM) to have a base for exploring a few of the pueblitos and other historic buildings in north central New Mexico. The pueblitos were built in the 1700's by the Navaho, atop boulders and cliffs. The apparently were defensive positions. Our first day was one of those where you spend the whole day driving 40 miles, and at times are happy to have compound low gear for descending dicey roads. It’s big country, and the ruins are pretty wide spread. Fascinating glimpse of a historic era.
